FAQ
-
What should I expect during my appointment?Communication, honesty and respect; it is crucial for both you and the therapist. Be vocal about what your needs and expectations are. This is your time and we value it, to make the most of it we highly recommend that you complete the intake documents before your scheduled session. This will give your Massage Therapist an understanding of your medical history and your expectations; thus avoiding taking additional time out of your session. Communicate with your therapist, the more we know the better we can aid in your relaxation goals. The Massage Therapist will briefly review the documents with you upon their arrival and if they have any questions they will reach out to you via telephone before your session.
-
Will my session begin upon arrival? As a courtesy, the massage therapist will arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time. This will allow time for set up and breakdown. Please be aware that the time starts ticking at your scheduled time. The 10-15 minute early arrival will not be taken from your session.
-
Should I shower before a massage? This is completely up to you. We understand this is not always feasible. However, if you are experiencing a lot of tension or if you have been performing strenuous work or exercise a warm shower or bath will aid in relaxing the muscles before your session but not required.
-
Do I have to be completely undressed? No. You can disrobe to your comfort level. However, please make note that a Swedish massage does require oils, and in order to enjoy the full benefits of this modality contact with the skin is required.
-
When should I avoid getting a massage? When you are not feeling well or when your physician has instructed you to avoid massage.
